Sunday roast in Croydon from £15.50 at the Builders Arms to £27 at Fern: 10 menus with prices, serving times and dog rules, checked 25 October 2026.

For a Sunday roast in Croydon, most people end up at the Spread Eagle opposite the town hall, the Tree House on South End, Fern by East Croydon station or the Builders Arms in Addiscombe. Further out, the Wattenden Arms in Kenley and the White Hart in Crystal Palace are popular too. We checked every entry against the venue’s own website and Sunday menu on 25 October 2026.

We have not eaten at these places for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry sets out what the venue publishes: its Sunday menu and prices, serving times, booking and house rules. We add the Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating and, for pubs, details from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). Roasts are served “while stocks last” in more than one of these kitchens, so book and check before you go.

The roasts are rump of beef, roast chicken with bacon and chestnut stuffing, pork belly, and a root vegetable, cranberry and nut roast. A sharing board of all three meats costs £3 a head more. The owners’ site calls its Sunday roast “very popular” and says “all our meats” are “guaranteed 100% British”. It does not publish the Sunday menu or prices online, so ask when you book, through the site, by email at sparrowhawkcp@gmail.com or on 020 8761 4831. South Croydon and Kenley

It describes slow-cooked joints, roast potatoes and “wonky Yorkies”, with vegetarian and vegan dishes and a children’s menu. It is open 8am to 10pm every day, the latest of any place in this guide. Prices are on the chain’s site and app rather than the branch page. Book online or call 020 8680 4559. Hygiene rating 5 (FSA, 16 December 2025). 415 Brighton Road, CR2 6ES. Our listing.

How we chose

We started from the places that publish a Sunday roast and that local guides keep naming, including Croydon BID’s Sunday roast guide, and from the pubs in our Croydon pubs guide. We then checked each one on 25 October 2026 against its own website and Sunday menu, CAMRA’s records and the Food Standards Agency register. We left out anywhere rated below 3 for hygiene. We also left out the Oval Tavern: Croydon BID’s guide recommends its Sunday roasts with live jazz, but the only roast menu on its site dates from 2016. Nobody listed has paid to be here.
