Boxpark Croydon gives away 1,000 free drinks from 3pm on Saturday 31 October for its tenth birthday. One each, house serves only, while they last. The rules.
Boxpark Croydon is giving away 1,000 free drinks from 3pm on Saturday 31 October to mark ten years next to East Croydon station. It is one drink per person, and they go on a first come, first served basis.
The giveaway is part of a free all-day party, the Family Feastival, which runs from 11am to 11pm on Halloween (BOXPARK Croydon).
How to get a free drink
Boxpark’s own terms, printed under the event listing, set the rules:
- the giveaway starts at 3pm and runs while stocks last
- one drink per person
- house serves and soft drinks only: a draught pint, a glass of house wine or a single spirit with a mixer
- alcoholic drinks are over-18s only, and Challenge 25 applies, so bring ID if you look under 25
“Get down early, because when they’re gone, they’re gone,” Boxpark says (BOXPARK Croydon).
Entry is free. Boxpark lists free tickets for the day on Eventbrite, on sale until 11am on 31 October (Eventbrite). Neither listing says whether you need a ticket to claim a drink, so booking one is the safe option.
There is no happy hour on Saturdays at Boxpark Croydon, according to its published opening times, so the 3pm giveaway is the only discount on the day.
What else is on
The rest of the day is aimed at families and at Crystal Palace fans. Boxpark lists:
- a fancy dress competition, with prizes for the best costumes
- face painting, arts and crafts and a magician for children
- the FanPark games, including keepy-uppy challenges, with prizes
- a live band playing hits from the last ten years, and resident DJs all day
- Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace, shown live on the big screens at 5.30pm
Expect it to be busy once the match crowd arrives. Boxpark’s description promises “a full house of Eagles fans”.
Boxpark is at 99 George Street, CR0 1LD. On a Saturday it is open from 11am to 1am.
What it means for you
If you want a drink, arrive before 3pm and be near the bars when the giveaway opens. With 1,000 drinks on offer and a Palace match on the same evening, there is no promise they will last into the evening.
If you are taking children, the daytime is the better bet. The face painting, crafts and magician run through the afternoon, before the 5.30pm kick-off fills the place.
Upstairs, PLAYBOX Croydon is running Kids Play Free over October half term, with up to two children per paying adult (PLAYBOX Croydon).
